 Season 2 Trailer

Climate Decoded is back for a second season! This time, we're diving even deeper into the critical climate change issues. This season, we'll explore how structures of power influence climate change and its communication, bringing listeners into spaces they might not have access to otherwise. We'll cover topics such as climate litigation, the work of environmental defenders, the far-right's co-option of climate communication, and how climate fiction helps us envision alternative futures. Launching Monday, 2nd September, wherever you get your podcasts.

[Climate Decoded theme music starts, sparse and slightly reverberant, anticipatory]

    CHANTAL COUGH-SCHULZE

    Hey, Lara.

    LARA DAVIES-JONES

    Hey Chantal.

    CHANTAL

So we're back! Climate Decoded is back for season two.

    LARA

Back indeed we are, and I can't wait. We have a big list of episodes coming. In this season, we'll be digging into issues centered around how structures of power affect climate change and climate communication.

[Music swells, becomes more rhythmic, swooping]

    CHANTAL

We've got a lot to look forward to. But for new listeners, what even is Climate Decoded? What are we doing here?

    LARA

Well, we, Climate Decoded, are a podcast about how we think and talk about climate change and ultimately how we act on it. This all started as a global group of friends working on climate issues.

[Musical tension breaks and music becomes cheerier, warmer]

    LARA

And now we want to bring everybody along as we talk to the people shaping the climate conversation. We want to bring listeners into the climate spaces they might not otherwise have access to. So what do we have in store for our listeners in season two?

    CHANTAL

We'll be heading to courtrooms where climate litigation is playing out in real time and learning about how environmental defenders are working on the frontlines of climate change. We'll learn about the risks of the far right co-opting climate communication and how climate fiction helps us imagine different futures.

    LARA

And that's not all. We'll also be sitting down with climate experts for one-on-one interviews, as well as reading climate books together.

    CHANTAL

So when is all of this starting?

    LARA

In September! So not long at all.
